Taxes on filesharing or Hamashi?

Well, there is a debate going on in europe about how to deal with filesharing and all those aspects. One thought that is gaining the upper hand in that debate is taxes on filesharing.

There are lots of aspects on this and I will not go into them but rather conclude that my own point of view is that those taxes, although I hate taxes, are actually good taxes this time around.

Simply because it will end a long and very dangerous war on the internet.

If we pay taxes to use internet and thus distribute those taxes among the rightholders of movies, music and books and other things we could in return get rights to copy without cracking or hacking any movie or game as we see fit. We still would have to buy the original if we want the fancy covers and stuff like that.

And we dont have to worry about being sued everytime we show up on the net.

The only other way to walk is to ban copying of any kind and excalate the war to new levels. And honestly, I dont like the future we are looking at then.

What will happen then is that the internet will be divided into "darknets" and "freenets" and other systems that hide your identity like Hamashi.

Personaly I have already started to use those system just to avoid getting sued just because I make a mistake. Or being accused by someone just because they dont like me.

I dont like that at all. I see everyday examples of people getting sued for filesharing or copyrights violations. Its getting out of hand and its going faster and faster.

The future looks grim if you ask me. I really hope they settle with the taxes and accept that people in their nature are inquisitive and like to copy.

I have joined the idea that is for taxes on internet and in return get back our freedom to copy as we see fit.

Lets end the war.

Ofcourse I realize there is lots of problems with "taxes" system but its still a LOT better than the other options... trust me on this.
